The ingredients needed to make Chicken-Potato Chops

Take 500 g mashed potatoes
Take 250 g minced chicken/beef/lamb
Prepare 2 eggs
Get 1 tablespoon cilantro leaves finely chopped
Make ready 3 tablespoons cooking oil
Take Salt as per taste
Make ready 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
Get 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
Prepare 1 teaspoon coriander powder
Prepare 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
Prepare 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Prepare 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
Get 1 small onion finely chopped
Make ready 1 small tomato finely chopped
Prepare Bread crumbs/ Rava(sooji) for coating
Prepare Oil for shallow frying
Instructions to make Chicken-Potato Chops

In a saucepan, heat 3 tablespoons of oil.
Add in the chopped onion and sautรฉ till translucent
Add in the ginger garlic paste/minced ginger and garlic
Add in the chopped tomatoes and cook till soft and mushy
Add in 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder, 1 teaspoon coriander powder, 1 teaspoon garam masala powder and salt as per taste
Add in the chopped cilantro leaves.
Add in the minced meat of your choice.(Here Iโm using chicken)
Add in half a cup of water if you feel itโs too dry.
Cook till the meat is tender and done.
The dish should be dry like this
When done, add in a teaspoon of lemon juice and mix well.
Beat two eggs in a bowl
Take a small amount of mashed potato and flatten it on the palm of your hand, forming a flat disc
Add in a tablespoon of the cooked and cooled minced meat.
Form another disc out of mashed potatoes and place it over the meat.
Secure the ends well forming a smooth cutlet.
Dip the cutlet/potato chops in the beaten egg
Coat them with bread crumbs/rava (sooji)
Heat oil in a pan for shallow frying.
When the oil is hot, carefully place the potato chops in the oil and cook for about 2 minutes on each side
Place it on a paper napkin
Serve hot as a starter or a snack
