The ingredients needed to make Chicken Biryani:
  1. Get 1/2 kg Chicken
  2. Prepare 1/2 kg Rice . (Soaked &boiled with salt)
  3. Prepare 2 tsp Red chili powder or to taste
  4. Make ready 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  5. Get 1 tsp Coriander powder
  6. Get 1 tsp Garam masala powder
  7. Take 1/2 Cup Oil
  8. Prepare 3-4 Green cardamom
  9. Prepare 4-5 Cloves
  10. Take 2-3 Bay leaves
  11. Make ready 1 Star anise
  12. Take 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  13. Make ready 3-4 Green chilies julienne
  14. Get 2 tbs Ginger garlic paste
  15. Get 1 small Tomato
  16. Take 1 tsp Salt or to taste
  17. Prepare 1/2 Cup Yogurt
  18. Prepare 1/2 tsp Yellow food color
  19. Get 1 medium Onion fried
  20. Make ready 2-3 tbs Fresh coriander chopped
  21. Prepare 2-3 tbs Mint leaves chopped
  22. Make ready 1 tbs Kewra water

Chicken biryani is a simple and super flavourful one-pot meal that is best served with raita and salad. There is a reason why chicken biryani is the most ordered dish in India since the last few years! But why order it when you can make flavourful and delectable restaurant-style biryani at home? Traditional chicken biryani is made by layering marinated chicken and then layered with parboiled rice, herbs,saffron milk & then ghee.

Instructions to make Chicken Biryani:
  1. In chicken,add red chili powder,turmeric powder,coriander powder and garam masala powder,mix well and marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. In pot,add oil,green cardamom,cloves,bay leaves,star anise,cumin seeds and mix well. - -Now add marinated chicken,green chilies and mix well.
  3. Add ginger garlic paste and mix well for 2-3 minutes then cover and cook on low flame for 6-8 minutes
  4. Add tomato and salt,mix well and cook until tomatoes are soft.
  5. Add yogurt and mix well,cover and cook for 5 minutes then cook on high flame until oil separates.
  6. In yogurt,add yellow food color and mix well & add it in pot.
  7. Add half quantity of boiled rice,fried onion,fresh coriander,mint leaves,green chilies,remaining boiled rice,fried onion and kewra water.
  8. Cover and steam cook on low flame for 8-10 minutes - Serve
