  4. Add wholemeal flour, spices and salt to the wet mixture and combine bicarbonate of soda/water and make a smooth batter.

  6. Pour into greased loaf pan and cook for 55 minutes at 165°C (330°F)

I added walnuts to this recipe, but they are totally optional, even though I love my banana bread with walnuts. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. I added walnuts, chocolate chips and sultanas separately to some of the muffins and left a few plain (I liked the ones with sultanas best).
